Course information: what to know before you choose, enrol and practise

Good training starts with clear information. This page answers the questions prospective students most need settled before booking: whether a course suits your experience, how fees and dates are confirmed, what a completion certificate does and doesn’t mean, and what you are responsible for before you offer treatments to clients.

QUESTIONS 01–04

Choosing the right course

Not sure where to begin? Our guide Learning Cosmetic Tattooing: Where to Start walks through the first decisions in plain English.

Are the courses suitable for beginners?

Yes. Our hands-on training is designed for adults starting out in the beauty industry as well as beauty professionals adding a new technique. Classes are small and taught directly by Olha Po, a licensed cosmetic tattoo artist who has worked professionally since 2016, so lessons follow your individual progress rather than a fixed pace.

What is taught?

Learning cosmetic tattooing is far more than operating a machine and following a design. Alongside technique practice, training covers mapping and symmetry, colour theory, pigment choice, skin and hygiene, and aftercare guidance. See Before the Needle: How We Teach for the full method.

Which course should I choose?

Most students start with one of our core courses: the Eyebrow Tattoo Course (powder and ombre brows), the Lip Tattoo Course or the Eyeliner Tattoo Course. If you want broader training, the Cosmetic Tattoo Course Package brings the core techniques together. Specialist options include microblading, fine line tattooing, laser tattoo removal, saline tattoo removal and laser hair removal. Torn between brow techniques? Read Powder Brows, Ombre Brows or Microblading?

How are fees, inclusions and dates confirmed?

Course fees, what is included, training dates and duration are confirmed directly with you when you enquire, so the details match the course and the timing you’re considering. Training is face-to-face in Forest Hill, Melbourne, and students from across Australia are welcome, provided they book and attend in person.

COMPLETION CERTIFICATES

What a completion certificate means

A longer explanation is in our article What a Course Completion Certificate Means.

IT REPRESENTS

That you completed the practical skills training for your course with us.

That you trained directly with Olha Po in a small, hands-on class.

A starting point for continued practice, not an endpoint.

IT IS NOT

A government-accredited or nationally recognised qualification, or a university degree.

A licence, professional registration or permission to perform regulated procedures.

A guarantee of employment, income, independent competency or regulatory approval to practise.

RISKS & SAFE PRACTICE

Procedure risks and your responsibilities

Cosmetic tattooing, tattoo removal and laser treatments are practical procedures that carry risks. They must be performed with appropriate training, hygiene and safety precautions. That is why skin assessment, infection control and aftercare guidance are taught alongside technique, and why we treat them as part of the craft rather than an afterthought.

Olha teaches as a practising cosmetic tattoo artist and trainer. She is not a medical practitioner, and our courses don’t replace medical advice for clients with health concerns.

BEFORE YOU OFFER TREATMENTS COMMERCIALLY

01   Business registration that applies to you

02   Appropriate insurance

03   Infection control requirements

04   Local council and state regulatory requirements

Meeting these requirements is the student’s responsibility. Check with the relevant authorities where you plan to work.

BOOKING & REFUNDS

Deposits, cancellation and refunds

When you book, any deposit, the payment arrangements, and the cancellation and refund conditions for your course are explained before you commit. The full conditions are set out in our Booking, Payment & Course Terms, and we suggest reading them before you confirm a place.

Nothing in our terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If you have a question about a booking already made, the easiest path is to contact us and we’ll go through it with you.
