Booking, payment and course terms

These terms explain how booking a course with us works. They cover fees, deposits, payment, cancellations and refunds, as well as what our training is and what it isn’t.

Please read them before you book. If anything is unclear, ask us. We would much rather go through it with you first.

CLAUSE 1 — THE BUSINESS

Who these terms are from

These terms apply to training provided by Cosmetic Tattoo Courses. We offer hands-on cosmetic tattoo and permanent makeup (PMU) training for beginners and beauty professionals. All courses are taught face-to-face in Forest Hill, Melbourne, Victoria. Every class is taught by Olha Po, a licensed cosmetic tattoo artist who has worked professionally since 2016. Students can come from anywhere in Australia, as long as they book and attend in person.

CLAUSE 2 — FEES & PAYMENT

Course fees, deposits and payment

Course fees

Fees depend on the course you choose, for example a single technique such as the Eyebrow Tattoo Course or the broader Cosmetic Tattoo Course Package. Before you book, we tell you the fee for your course and explain what it covers.

Deposits

If your course needs a deposit to hold a place, we tell you the amount before you commit and explain how it is applied to your course fee. We also explain what happens to the deposit if you later cancel or reschedule. A booking is only confirmed once we have both agreed its details.

Payment arrangements

We arrange payment directly with you when we confirm your booking, including the due date for any remaining balance. This website does not take payments. Sending an enquiry costs nothing and does not commit you to a booking.

CLAUSE 3 — BOOKING, CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

Booking, cancelling and refunds

Our booking, cancellation and refund conditions are subject to the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits or removes any rights you have under it, including your consumer guarantees.

Making a booking

Every booking starts with a conversation. You can send an enquiry, call or email us. We’ll talk through your experience level and which course suits you, then confirm the fee, any deposit, the payment arrangements and the cancellation conditions before your booking is final.

If you need to cancel or reschedule

Please let us know as early as you can by phone or email. The cancellation and rescheduling conditions that apply to your booking, including how they affect any deposit, are explained to you when you book.

If we need to change a course

If we ever have to reschedule training, we’ll contact you directly to discuss your options, including any refund you are entitled to.

Refunds

Refunds are handled according to the conditions agreed when you book and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If you think something has gone wrong, please contact us so we can sort it out with you.

CLAUSE 4 — NATURE OF THE TRAINING

What our training is, and what it isn't

Cosmetic tattooing is more than operating a machine and following a design. Our courses teach the judgement behind the work.

Practical skills training

Our courses are hands-on, practical training in small classes, taught directly by Olha Po. Depending on the course, they cover techniques such as powder and ombre brows, microblading, lip blush and eyeliner tattooing. Each course also covers the groundwork that comes first, such as mapping, colour theory and pigment choice. You can read more in Before the Needle: How We Teach.

Not a degree or an accredited qualification

Our courses are practical skills training, not university degrees. They are not described as nationally recognised, government accredited or endorsed by a regulator.

What a completion certificate records

A completion certificate records that you completed the training with us. It is not a licence, a professional registration or permission to perform regulated procedures. Our guide What a Course Completion Certificate Means explains this in more detail.

No guarantees after completion

Completing a course does not guarantee employment, income, business success, independent professional competency or regulatory approval to practise. Skill keeps developing through supervised practice long after a course ends.

CLAUSE 5 — RISKS & STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Procedure risks and your responsibilities

Cosmetic tattooing, tattoo removal and laser treatments are practical procedures that carry risks. They must be performed with appropriate training, hygiene and safety precautions. This applies just as much to specialist courses such as Laser Tattoo Removal, Saline Tattoo Removal and Laser Hair Removal. Olha teaches as a licensed cosmetic tattoo artist and trainer. She is not a medical doctor or registered healthcare professional, and our training does not replace medical advice.

Before you offer any treatment to clients commercially, it is your responsibility to:

—   meet any business registration requirements that apply to you

—   arrange suitable insurance for the work you plan to do

—   follow the infection control standards that apply where you work

—   check and meet your local council and state regulatory requirements

—   only perform procedures you are competent and permitted to perform

The Course Information & Student Responsibilities page answers common questions about these points.
